Love of God Awards |
Dawn Fehring was a young woman full of love for God and for God's people. In her short life, she dedicated herself to Christian service and her personal ministry touched hundreds of lives.
After graduation from California Lutheran University, Dawn served as a church youth director, taught English as a second language in Japan, Austria and the United States and served as a language transalator in Japan. |
Wherever she went, Dawn made it her purpose to be a volunteer missionary, sharing the love and grace of Jesus Christ with all people and showing them the fullness of her faith in him.
On May 13, 1995, while a student at the Lutheran Bible Institute in Issaquah, Washington (now Trinity Lutheran College in Everett), she was murdered in her apartment in nearby Kirkland. |
Dawn Fehring |
| Caring friends and family created the Dawn Fehring Love of God Award to carry out and support the ministry to which Dawn devoted her life. The awards are used as seed money for people with a personal commitment, strong faith and desire for spreading the Gospel. | |

Miwa, a young Japanese woman says: "When I was a seeker, I had a hard time understanding God. I was angry at him. I heard the story of Dawn and her parents. It struck my heart and opened my eyes to see God, who was love. I had never met Dawn, but through her, my life changed forever."
Since this statement Miwa has led several foreign exchange students to Jesus and is a leader in a Japanese church in Washington. |
