>> ASTP has 30 openings. Students attend either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.

>> Although academic help is the primary focus of ASTP, development of social skills and good nutritional habits are also important program goals.

>> Each year, ASTP utilizes approximately 50 volunteers, about half of whom are honor students at Olympia High School.

>> Volunteers contribute approximately 2350 hours of service each year. They come in all ages and abilities to serve as tutors, drivers and activity-time helpers.

>> All volunteers are screened through the State Patrol for crimes against persons and must provide solid references to become involved in the program.

>> In addition to the volunteers, ASTP employs two part-time staff to manage program operations.
