Good Shepherd's Caring Ministry is provided by members who give their time and love to those who seek the encouragement and support of a Christian friend. Care Team Members & Pastors bring a ministry of prayer, visitation, conversation, Bible reading, assist those with limited mobility and distribute Holy Communion to shut-ins.
Stephen Ministry is a blessing and a benefit to both those who give the gentle care and those who receive it. Stephen ministers provide one to one Christian care to hurting people in and around our congregation. Stephen ministers receive 50 hours of initial training followed by continuing education in caring ministry skills and concepts. They are committed to absolute confidentiality and receive regular support and supervision.
Eucharistic Ministry is made up of trained members who bring Holy Communion to those who cannot attend worship services. The first Sunday of each month they provide a short service and distribute the blest communion elements to our homebound members.
Prayer Chain ministry is made up of volunteers who pray each day for families and individuals who are in need of prayer for healing, sickness, or who are dealing with grief etc.
Health Ministry at Good Shepherd addresses not only how a person heals but also asks, "What keeps people well and how can we assist in that process?" Pastors work closely with this ministry providing spiritual guidance and encouragement to those facing difficulties.
Parish Nurses are trained to nurture the whole person - body, mind and spirit. Our parish nurses work in partnership with pastors, hospitals, social service agences and the community. Our focus in on prevention, wholeness and wellness. We provide blood pressure checks, sponsor blood drives and provide resources, referrals and information regarding community services.
