Living Stones Prison Congregation
|
We are a Christian congregation made up of inmates at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, WA. We are a member church of the Southwestern Washington Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. We encourage participation by inmates in all aspects of service and organization. We also stress the point that, when they attend our services, they can "exhale" or let down their guard. The men here have enough stress to deal with when they walk out of a service and rejoin the rest of the prison population. Therefore, we let them know that when we are together for worship, it is our "family time".

PROJECT COPE: This program provides training and support to equip congregations to form re-entry ministry teams to partner with men coming out of prison for effective re-entry.

How my church can get involved:
1) Come and worship on a Saturday night Good Shepherd is scheduled to worship at Living Stones on Saturday evening, February 14th, 2009. You must be 18 to attend. Contact Missy Tade if you would like to go. 2) Be a mission partner As incarcerated men, our members cannot support their church on their own finances. We are rich however in other ways. 3) Be part of PROJECT COPE This is a re-entry program where we teach churches to form teams that can partner with a man coming out of prison. 4) Pray for our church 5) Do you have a Band? Schedule a time to come and play for the guys on a Friday night. 6) Do you have a softball team? Come on down and play with the guys.
